I started this concept art (an idea for a comic book series) with pencil, pen, and ink for a black and white finished image. After transferring the image into Photoshop I then used the colors, swatches and filters to integrate the palette of colors into the black ink. It changed the look into the type of image I originally had in mind: the idea of a momentary snapshot or a picture-portrait painting of the three galaxy adventurers, pausing while on the run from their pursuers and adversaries. In 2006 to 2007 I concentrated on scriptwriting the series with my friend Jason Degroot ('Kwiddex Protocal', 'Mad Trio' and 'the Colony' -- http://therepercussioneffect.wordpress.com). We collaborated on six wonderful scripts. Physical illness delayed my work the last few years, but I'm back now and continuing the project. The inspiration for this particular cover was the fantastic science fiction paintings on paperback covers I use to peruse over, that were in spin racks in bookstores back in the late 70s and much of the 80s. Then later, when the story of the adventures begin to develop over time in my thoughts, the three main characters emerged: Janice Jupiter (the space pirate), Anpollano (the Space Ape), and Vess (Vessel the Robot). wjcjck@netscape.net Winston Lee Jackson
